After “messy day” in the children’s center we went for a walk, in this case, “behind Paddington”. Today has been a beautiful sunny day in London (the sun has a special brightness when is out, and it does this more often than raining in spite of clichés).

Alegría had sand and paint in her body and clothes because the hour we spent at the nursery, but the sunny day deserved a walk beside the canal, towards Little Venice. I think it is one of the most romantic (and non-touristic) places in London.

You can enjoy your time by just walking, having tea in the cafes, boating, resting in Rembrandt Gardens, taking pictures, finding out a nice neighborhood, crossing bridges and footbridges (I learned the difference last weekend)…

In fact, if you are coming to London without intention to go through the stressful Regent and Oxford streets, if you don’t want to suffer from the usual weekend “engineering works” in the tube and if you have already visited all the tourist spots, you can’t miss this peaceful area.

You can hire a boat for parties, sailing to the zoo, Camden, Regent’s Park (over the Regent’s canal) …

I hope you enjoy your alternative walk in London!
